Forgein Language Courses at the ZFS

As a central institution of Julius Maximilian University of Würzburg, the Center for Languages (ZFS) is responsible for offering faculty-wide foreign language courses, providing foreign language modules, and offering German language courses that accompany studies.

Languages Offered

The Center for Languages at the University of Würzburg offers a variety of language courses that are integrated as modules in the pool of General Key Qualifications and in the interdisciplinary area of teacher education programs.

The languages offered include:

Registration for the courses



  • Registration for the courses is done exclusively ONLINE through WueStudy.
  • If you have prior knowledge of a language and have not yet completed a course at the ZFS, you must take a placement test before registering online. This test is valid for two semesters and cannot be retaken.
  • To take the online placement test, please send an email specifying your target language to zfs@uni-wuerzburg.de to receive the access information.
  • In the language course

    Expand language skills with software and learning materials

    • The ZFS Würzburg provides you with a variety of resources to enhance your language skills.
    • Utilize language learning software, online resources, foreign-language films, and traditional teaching materials.
    • The language learning software is available on the PCs in the media library.
