The Master's program in International Economic Policy is an internationally oriented program that trains students in the application of theoretical and empirical economic analysis.
Graduates of the Master's program will be prepared for a wide range of topics relevant to economics and public policy.
The Master's degree program in International Economic Policy is unique in Bavaria and offers a flexible course design as well as the opportunity to think outside the box. The M.Sc. in International Economic Policy is an internationally oriented program that prepares students for sophisticated theoretical and empirical analyses in economic and policy issues. Core topics are microeconomics, macroeconomics and econometrics.
Students have the opportunity to complete exchange semesters at partner universities abroad or to study the second half of the Master's degree at the Universities of Ghent (Belgium) or Verona (Italy). This enables them to obtain a double degree.
Prof. Dr. Hans Fehr reveals what else students should bring to the table in addition to a strong interest in economic policy issues and scientific work as well as a solid knowledge of mathematics and statistics.
ECTS-Credits
teaches basic principles of international economic policy in the first two semesters
Students have the opportunity to choose eight courses in the first three semesters and deepen their interests
Four courses can be freely selected in the second and third semesters depending on interests and professional goals
In the third semester, practical skills are taught and practiced as part of a practical or research seminar. In addition, research topics are developed, discussed and scientific findings are generated
Students develop their Master's thesis step by step, starting with the basics and ending with a discussion of current political or research-related issues in a seminar of their choice

Students have the unique opportunity to discuss current economic policy topics with well-known politicians and renowned researchers in our biannual IEP Lecture Series.
Renowned experts such as Prof. Dr. Veronika Grimm or Peter Altmaier enrich our academic community and offer fascinating insights into economic policy debates.
The Double Degree Program is a tuition-free and integrated international study program. With the Double Degree you will study two semesters at the University of Würzburg and two at an international partner university - University of Ghent (Belgium) or University of Verona (Italy). Lessons are taught in English.

Advantages:
From the 2nd semester onwards, up to two semesters can be used for a stay abroad. The credits earned abroad are recognized as electives during your studies.
