Just like the Frühjahrsvolksfest Kiliani is celebrated for 17 days on the Talavera. Every July visitors can celebrate the patron saint Holy Kilian by enjoying the different carnival rides, food stands and beer gardens. The centre of the festivity is the beer tent of the local brewery Würzburger Hofbräu. Similar to the Frühjahrsvolksfest people can enjoy daily live music while singing and dancing on the tables and benches. Of course, everyone is invited to wear the traditional bavarian clothing and enjoy their Maß in the beer tent.
Every year Kiliani is opened with a firework and the beer tapping by the major of Würzburg. The festive end is also celebrated by a firework.
Kiliani and the Frühjahrsvolksfest are very similar. The main difference is that the Frühjahrsvolksfest is a little smaller than Kiliani but at least as enjoyable and fun.
A home festival which goes beyond music, tradition, societies food and carnies and is deeply rooted and influencing within the region.
